ABOUT LEONIE SCHILLING

Leonie is a Qualified Counsellor, Trainer, Mediator and Early Childhood Educator who is also a Justice of the Peace.
Leonie has worked in both the public and private education sectors for over 30 years and has managed a thriving practice registered as North Lakes Counselling Services for over 20 years using a strength based and solution focused approach.
Leonie brings a wealth of academic and experiential knowledge to her work, specialising in Couples Counselling, Personal Counselling and Grief and Loss Counselling.
Leonie also provides dynamic Life Coaching, meeting her clients where they are in life and using proven tools, skills and strategies to move them from where they currently are, to where they want to be.
Leonie is a very experienced teacher who trains and assesses accredited counselling courses and also non accredited short courses in Counselling and Psychology. Leonie has a strong commitment to maintaining currency and academic excellence through engaging in constant professional development of both Counselling and Training and Assessment.
Leonie proudly works with various Not for Profit organisations to provide counselling to Forgotten Australians and the Forgotten Generation and also offers EAP (Employee Assist Programs) for many organisations.
Working for many years in Child Care Organisations, Behaviour Support Units and Special Education Centres, Leonie has committed a large portion of her career to facilitating learning for those who are challenged and assisting youths who are at risk.
Leonie is a published author who has been a regular columnist and radio commentator in North Lakes, Redcliffe and surrounds for 20 + years.
Leonie also holds qualifications in Employment Counselling and produces dynamic employment documents including Resumes, Cover Letters and Selection Criteria Response documents.
Prior to working in a therapeutic capacity, Leonie spent 15 years as a qualified Early Childhood Educator, upholding the 52 principles of accreditation and helping children grow across all developmental domains in all age groups whilst assisting students to gain competencies towards childcare qualifications and continues to provide 3rd Party assessment for Students of Counselling and Early Childhood.
