ABOUT LEONIE SCHILLING
Leonie is a Qualified Counsellor, Trainer, Mediator and Early Childhood Educator who is a Justice of the Peace.
Leonie has worked in both the public and private education sector for over 30 years and has run a thriving private practice for the last nine years using a Strength Based, Solution Focused approach;
Leonie brings a wealth of academic and experiential knowledge to her work specialising in Couples Counselling, Personal Counselling and Training and Assessment.
A qualified Trainer and Assessor, Leonie is currently training and assessing the Diploma of Counselling, and running two day assessment workshops to fulfil work place 3rd party Practical competency reports and also runs workshops on How to get back into the workforce, healthy work life balance, building self esteem and handling workplace confrontation.
Leonie proudly works with various Not for Profit organisations to provide counselling to Forgotten Australians and the Forgotten Generation.
Working for many years in Child Care Organisations, Behaviour Support Units and Special Education Centres, Leonie has committed a large portion of her career to facilitating learning for those who are challenged and assisting youths who are at risk.
Leonie is a published author who, for the last 9 years has written a weekly column in the “The Messenger” Magazine which has a huge following with a readership of over 50,000 in the Moreton Bay area and is also a popular download in the United Kingdom.
Leonie also holds qualifications in Employment Counselling and produces dynamic employment documents including Resumes, Cover Letters and Selection Criteria Response documents.
Prior to working in a therapeutic capacity, Leonie spent 15 years as a qualified Early Childhood Educator upholding the 52 principles of accreditation and helping children grow across all developmental domains in all age groups whilst assisting students to gain competencies towards childcare qualifications.
